Dr. Ljiljana Gulan was born on June 4, 1973. She studied Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Priština, study group Physics, graduated on 1998. She completed doctoral studies on 2014 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Kragujevac, defending the doctoral dissertation entitled: "Measurement of radionuclides in the soil and indoor radon in Kosovo and Metohija." Since 1998, she has beenemployed at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Priština, first as a teaching associate, then as an assistant, and since 2015 as an Assistant professor. Since 2018, she has been an Associate professor for the scientific field of Experimental Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Priština in Kosovska Mitrovica. She teaches in several courses at the Department of Physics and performs an additional course at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Belgrade.
Her scientific research field is Radiation Physics, natural and artificial radioactivity in the air and soil, which includes indoor radon and thoron research, gamma spectrometric determination of specific activities of radionuclides in soil and environmental samples, the influence of geogenic characteristics on radionuclide concentrations in soil, water, air, measurement of ambient dose equivalent rate in air. Dr. Ljiljana Gulan has published 15 scientific papers in international journals and dozens of papers on the international and national conferences. She has been cited more than 200 times according to the Google Scholar database. She is an author of the monograph " Indoor Radon and Thoron in Kosovo and Metohija: Correlation and Risk Maps" and co-author of radon and thoron risk maps for the area of Kosovo and Metohija. She is a member of the Serbian Physical Society and the Radiation Protection Society of Serbia and Montenegro. She has been engaged in scientific project no. III41028 Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
